GREEN BAY, Wis. — Bijan Robinson delivered a standout performance on Thursday night as the Atlanta Falcons powered past the Green Bay Packers 35-14 at Lambeau Field.

Robinson rushed for 194 yards and two touchdowns, helping Atlanta overcome an early deficit and score 27 unanswered points. The victory also marked the return of quarterback Michael Penix Jr., who produced a solid performance in his first game back from a knee injury.

The Falcons finished the night with a huge advantage on the ground, rushing for 242 yards compared with just 17 by Green Bay.

Atlanta fell behind 7-0 early, but the game quickly changed. Robinson’s explosive running opened up the offense, while the Falcons repeatedly found ways to reach the end zone.

The performance was particularly notable after Atlanta failed to run a single play inside the red zone during its first two games of the season.

Robinson broke loose for a 55-yard run in the first half before finishing the drive with a three-yard touchdown. He later added another touchdown as Atlanta continued to pull away.

Penix makes successful return

Penix completed 18 of 25 passes for 256 yards, throwing one touchdown and one interception in his first appearance since suffering a torn ACL in his left knee in November 2025.

His return provided Atlanta with a different look on offense. After an early interception, Penix settled into the game and made several key throws, particularly after Robinson’s running game began creating opportunities through play-action.

Penix’s touchdown pass went to Austin Hooper on a five-yard completion late in the second quarter.

Falcons head coach Kevin Stefanski praised the quarterback’s work during his rehabilitation and preparation for his return.

Drake London matches Robinson’s big night

Robinson wasn’t the only Atlanta player to produce a huge statistical performance.

Wide receiver Drake London caught nine passes for a career-best 194 yards, including a 68-yard catch-and-run in the fourth quarter that helped put the game firmly out of reach.

Robinson and London became the first pair of teammates to each record at least 190 yards from scrimmage in a road game since the Los Angeles Rams achieved the feat in 1976.

The two Atlanta stars played a central role in an offensive turnaround that came after the Falcons struggled to generate production in their opening two games.

Packers struggle in front of home crowd

Green Bay entered the game with a 1-1 record but struggled to sustain its offense against Atlanta.

Quarterback Jordan Love completed 28 of 53 passes for 312 yards, with two touchdowns and one interception. His touchdown passes went to Christian Watson and Matthew Golden.

The Packers’ running game was almost completely shut down. MarShawn Lloyd and Kaleb Johnson combined for only 17 rushing yards on eight attempts.

Green Bay also faced problems along its offensive line. Left guard Aaron Banks was dealing with a toe injury, while right tackle Zach Bako-Bewele was unavailable after suffering a season-ending patellar tendon injury the previous Sunday.

Rookie Jager Burton made his first NFL start at left guard, while 2025 second-round pick Anthony Belton started at right tackle.

Penalties hurt Green Bay again

Discipline remained an issue for the Packers.

Green Bay had already committed an NFL-high 26 penalties during its opening two games, and another costly penalty helped Atlanta swing momentum Thursday night.

With Atlanta facing third down late in the opening quarter, Brenton Cox Jr. was penalized for roughing the passer after an apparent incompletion. Robinson then broke off his 55-yard run on the following play before scoring from three yards out.

Atlanta took a 17-7 lead into halftime and continued to control the game after the break.

Green Bay also missed an important opportunity early in the second half when Love failed to connect with Watson in the end zone on fourth down from the Atlanta 7-yard line.

What the result means

The victory moved Atlanta to 1-2, while Green Bay dropped to 1-2.

For the Falcons, the game provided a major offensive boost with Penix back at quarterback and Robinson producing one of the strongest rushing performances of the season.

For the Packers, the defeat raised further questions about their offensive execution, offensive line depth and ability to maintain consistency after a difficult opening stretch.

Packers coach Matt LaFleur said the team would use the extra time before its next game to evaluate what needs to change.

The Falcons next travel to New Orleans on October 5, while the Packers visit Tampa Bay on October 4.
